Why am I getting a new credit card?

By June 5, 2026, you should have received your new credit card in the mail. This is a legitimate re-issue prompted by Interior Federal Credit Union.

Please rest assured that there is no instance of fraud on your card or other members‘ cards.

You are being sent a new card for a number of reasons–the most important being enhanced security for our cardholders and the Credit Union as a whole. Once you receive your new card in the mail, activate it promptly and begin using it as your primary card. Please note that your old card will no longer work after June 10, 2026.

This new card has a completely different number and a new expiration date. For you, this means the following:

  • Remove the old card from your digital wallet and upload your new one with just a tap when prompted on your device.
  • Check balances within digital banking to ensure everything transferred properly.
    • This may take a few days to fully go into effect.
  • Update your card number in locations where you have recurring payments (i.e. Amazon, Hulu, Costco, etc.).
    • Your new card number will be available within Card Management prior to receiving your physical card. You can use this information when paying with a digital wallet or online merchants. To use your physical card, you will still need to activate it upon arrival.
  • Update your card in online wallets like PayPal.

A few things to know during the transition:

  • You will see both your old card and your new card in Digital Banking through June 11, 2026. Please be aware of your old card number and your new card number.
  • Historical statements will remain available through the Visa Access Portal.
  • Your June statement will include charges from both cards, and any balance on your old card will automatically transfer to your new card, no action is required.
  • You will see a “balance transfer” transaction in Visa Access which is the balance from your old card, moving to the new card. 
  • If you use Visa Access, it may take a few days for the system to transfer all transactions, statements, and automatic card payments. Please do not panic if something does not match up immediately but call us if the problem persists after 3 business days.

Less card expirations meaning less changes in the future.  Interior Federal is constantly adding new technology to our systems to help ensure the security of our members and their financial information.

An added benefit with this new card is that everyone with an active credit card will have a sleeker design and a close-up of Tyson the Bison.
